December rolls along and I realize I have not saved up nearly enough money to buy my friends and families Christmas gifts. (Curse you unemployment!) Thought I’m sure my friends miss my usual economy class gifts of soaps, chocolates or movie tickets, I really hope they enjoyed my “hand-made” gifts better.

During my birthday party my friends and I worked on a large canvas together. I really like the results and plan on hanging this in my living room!

Some of my friends and I have started a drawing challenge! Every month we pick a subject and each draw our interpretation of the character. The purpose is to help us improve our very rusty drawing skills. Jerah has the first pick – this month’s subject is Jaime Lannister from the Song of Ice and Fire series.

This month’s challenge was a little bit rushed as we thought of the idea late and had less than a month. My version is done in an anime-like style, mouse-drawn in Illustrator and coloured in Photoshop. This will most likely be the last mouse drawing I do since I now how my shiny graphic tablet.

Here is Jerah’s version. We are the only 2 who participated this round. (Boo Chris!) Our versions differ quite a bit, not just in style but also the overall feel of the character. We were in different parts of the series and the character had changed a lot during the course of the storyline.
