Jahzel is an artist from Vancouver Island who paints whimsical worlds and animals.
Jahzel Misner is an artist and designer based in Courtenay, BC. With a background in Interactive Arts and Technology from Simon Fraser University, she blends her love of whimsical storytelling with a strong foundation in design. Jahzel paints enchanting worlds filled with animals, nature spirits, and quiet moments of magic, drawing inspiration from childhood books like Redwall and Beatrix Potter.
In addition to painting, she handcrafts wooden toys inspired by Waldorf principles — each one carved from cherry, maple, or walnut wood and finished with food-grade oils and non-toxic paints. Her work is rooted in simplicity, imagination, and natural materials.
Jahzel is also a board member at Pearl Ellis Gallery, where she supports artist outreach, digital strategy, and community exhibitions
